A Global Call for Climate Action
Thousands of organized rallies in more than 150 nations called for global policymakers to make cutting carbon emissions down to a level of 350 parts per million a priority, 50 days prior to the United Nations conference on climate change.

A balloon representing the Earth is hoisted during an event in Racine, Wisc., to coincide with the call to bring carbon emissions down to 350 parts per million, which is said to be the safe upper limit of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
