Steger says he has seen the devastation of climate change first hand. He has studied and travelled around the poles for 40 years.

A long-time Arctic explorer wants Montanans to "see for themselves" how the pace of climate change has accelerated. Will Steger's film footage, taken on extreme polar expeditions over 40 years, shows how polar lakes have thawed, ice shelves have disintegrated and wildlife habitat has disappeared. That footage is on display in Billings, Bozeman and Missoula this week.

This time the 2008 Ellesmere Island Expedition, a 1,400 mile dogsled expedition from Resolute Bay, Nunavut, around the northern coast of Ellesmere Island and ending in Eureka. BILLINGS - It was packed house at the Billings Depot Tuesday night as polar explorer, Will Steger, shared his arctic experiences and run-ins with climate change during the Montana segment of his "Eyewitness to Climate Change" tour.
For the past 45 years Steger has traveled tens of thousands of miles by kayak and dogsled leading teams on some of the most significant polar expeditions in history.
