Our Board of Directors are committed individuals with experience in law, policy, education, finance, non-profits, and industry who have a passion for our mission and a desire to slow global warming. Directors serve on the Board for three-year terms. They provide fiduciary oversight, strategic vision and direction and financial support for the organization. Will Steger - President and Founder Will Steger is known for his numerous polar expeditions, deep understanding of the environment and his efforts to raise international awareness to environmental threats. Steger has been an eyewitness to the on-going catastrophic consequences of global warming. He is a seasoned polar explorer, educator, and the author of several books including North to the Pole. Over the Top of the World, and Saving the Earth.
Will Kaul - Vice President Will Kaul is Vice President of Transmission at Great River Energy where he has worked for 28 years in various positions. Prior to that he was on staff at the Minnesota Environmental Quality Board and at the Minnesota State Legislature. Currently, he serves on the Advisory Council to the Federal Reserve Bank in Minneapolis.
David Brown - Treasurer Dave Brown is a CPA and Shareholder at CBIZ Accounting, Tax and Advisory Services, LLC in Minneapolis.
Kim Knutson - Director Kim Knutson has worked in horticulture for 30 years in the public and private sector. Knutson is the owner of Three Seeds Inc., a landscape design firm based in Minneapolis. Knutson has worked for the Walker Art Center for 20 years and assisted significant garden projects for the Minneapolis Park Board, City of Lakes Waldorf School, in addition to many private landscapes.
Michael Noble - Director Michael Noble is the Executive Director of Fresh Energy. Fresh Energy works with numerous groups throughout the region and the world to promote efficiency in energy and land use, and the increased reliance on home-grown renewable resources. Noble also serves as a Director on other environmental nonprofit organization Boards, including Conservation Minnesota.
Jon Dettmann - DirectorJon Dettmann practices litigation in the areas of commercial disputes, intellectual property, government contracts and environmental law, including climate change at Faegre and Benson LLP. In the environmental area, Jon has worked on matters involving oil spills, wildland firefighting, wilderness protection and endangered species. He was on the litigation team that defended the fishermen in Exxon's appeal of the punitive damages award stemming from the Exxon Valdez oil spill. He has also represented wilderness groups in multiple cases involving wilderness areas from Georgia to Alaska, and is a frequent speaker and writer on wilderness and climate change issues.
